Wanted: Relativly rare PS2 Dev stuff

Discussion in 'Want to Buy Requests (WTB)' started by esrever.reenigne, Dec 19, 2005.

  1. Hey,
I'm looking for a "START-UP CARD" memory card that I beleive ships with certain kinds of debug stations. (I think I remember TBD being at the end of the model number).
    I'm also looking for a "cheap" T10k or T15k, but I think that's a little far out. :110:

Sorry for my first post being in the marketplace, I only just found the site, and didn't really want to start posting some redundant messages just to get my post count up.
I'll try to post in other threads when I think that I'll actually add something worthwhile. :icon_bigg

    Thanks for any help.

Yea, the cheap T10k is _way_ out ;p
I have a H10k i'll sell you, debugging stations are the way
to go for messing with at home, the T10k would kill someone
if you got pissed and threw it out the window and hit someone

    Dave

PS. the memcard your looking for will not help you with a non dev. machine

  3. Thanks for the reply, who said I wanted to actually use the boot card? (points at his name) :110:
I don't really need one, but how much are you selling the H10k(s?) for, could be a fun thing to have anyway.

I already have a perfectly good PS2 development setup, I'm just a little interested in reverse engineering some of the non-standard PS2 stuff (I have my reasons, none of them evil ;-))

What you're referring to is the "Programming Tool LT". This is a new tool that consists of a complete bundle of newer model TEST station, network adapter, 40Gb HDD and a "start-up security card".

It was designed by SCE as a low cost solution for developers who do not require the full functionality of the PS2 Development TOOL (DTL-T10000), for example artists and sub programmers on a development team. The LT supports debuggers that target the TEST station using DECI2 communication over an Ethernet connection.

So there you have it, perhaps this should go in the Wiki bit!! ;-)

You have a dtl model number for that device?

Why bother reverse anything ps2, it's a dead market.

The kit may have an overall DTL number/name but the booklet doesn't mention one. When I say 'new' it's been out for quite a while (it's newer than the TOOL, that's what I meant).

I think it came out around the same time as the DTL-T15000 (Performance Analyser). So, early 2003 ish.

  7. It may be a "dead market", but it's an extremly nice hardware arch, plus there's still tonnes of stuff that hasn't been explored on it. For example there's no custom hardware for the Dev9 bus, even though it has some very interesting signals on it, there's no software using Deci2 in the open source world, etc, etc.

If I had anything better to reverse, I'd do so, any suggestions are welcome. :110:

And why would it be a dead market in the first place? The PS3 isn't around yet, and if it was, the PS2 will still be around for quite a while.

They said the same thing about psone. People are just waiting to drop ps2 the second ps3 comes out. Sure you'll see support, but it'll be all third tier or edutainment garbage.

esrever.reenigne, make me an offer, i've been looking to trade it for some dreamcast dev things for my project, but i can always but them full out too, anyone have a katana tower for sale ? I need to do some reversing on low level gdrom regs still, though most of it is 100% worked out now.
