If you can't find one, consider the free PV-Backup. There's a 512M POF out there.

PV-Backup is a DIY V64 Jr clone by Valery Pudov, unfortunately she took her site down and requested that mirrors be removed as well. Here's what appears to be a complete archive of it: http://infrid.altervista.org/mirror/pv-backup/procomru/default.htm

It's more or less an identical hardware clone, but the CPLD is rewritten by her of course since it's too secure to read out. It's not compatible with V64 Jr protocol but her project was popular enough to have support in a few V64 Jr transfer tools as well as her own.

Her supplied POF (Altera JEDEC programming file) supports 256M but somebody on Dextrose rewrote her AHDL it for 512M support and distributed a POF.

I think the project could be built for under $100 however the N64 connector won't be a breeze to find. If you don't plan to use any CIC but 6102, I'd omit the cart connector and solder a 6102 in.

    not so hard to find

the V64Jr sold pretty large quantities, with a bit of digging you should be well possible to source either model.

    I think you need a Partner-N64 as opposed to a V64 Jr/Neoflash "NEO64 Dev kit" (<--what a joke)

Not really. I just need a unit to execute a modified IPL rom. I should be able to do it off a standard flash cart. Im not trying to boot a dev unit (in which I would need the partner), just a comercial unit so I can tap the status register.

  11. i heard thres an untested v64jr 256 going up on ebay soon

Never buy anything on eBay listed as untested.

untested = not working so I labeled it as untested in the hopes that some poor schmuck would buy my crap off me. ;)

Well thats another story. Yet what good is a dump if I dont have an understanding of the status & command registers?

Besides technicaly I can dump the games via other methods (I know lac figured out how to dump some).

Not sure what you fully mean by that but if you're refering to me, I already have alot documented on the n64DD from what I got on the ipl4rom. Barc0de seen what I got and knows i'm not just doing wishful thinking.

    --edit--

Also nothing has been donated. I've actualy forked up the $$$ for the n64, DD & v64.
