I am looking for a Wonderswan Flash (backup) kit. This would basically be a flash linker and a flash ROM cartridge. Alas, the online retailers in Hong Kong and elsewhere have stopped selling them.

If anyone has such equipment for sale, please let me know via private message or e-mail. Thanks!

Hmm... of course, my want is for development purpose, not to backup commercial game ROMs. You?

I dont think there is a need to bring up piracy.....since the whole point of this forum is rare/obscure/development stuff for collectors...... or thats how i interpret the site

You shouldn't need a backup kit to do development then. Modify your own cartridge or use a Wonder Witch like Assembler said.

If I got hold of a Wonderwitch, I wouldn't be opening it, thats why im after a (relatively) cheaper flashcart. Mind you, if someone pointed me in the direction of a "cheap" Wonderwitch set... :smt023

Wonderwitches are so obscure, I think they now fetch $300 or so, I did a search last week and that was the least I could find them for.

I know a place where I can get them for $250USD, but thats a bit much for me. One went on ebay.co.uk recently for I think £110 or so (which is basically the same as the $250USD one)

Considering you posted this AFTER my request to you in your other thread...

TO NEW USERS (especially those wishing to sell or buy)

    1. update your profile so it says your location. This will greatly aid someone who wants to buy from / sell to you (e.g. better idea of postage costs / whether the item is PAL/NTSC)

    2. go to the "Off Topic" forum. Go to the "Sticky: Introduce Yourself !" thread. Introduce yourself in there (follow everyone else's lead regarding what to put).

Sorry, but it is just common courtesy to introduce yourself to a forum before you start posting - especially if your first posts are going to be "I want this".

It would appear that most homebrew developers are holding onto their WonderSwan flash kits, unfortunately (especially since I don't exactly see a steady release schedule of WonderSwan homebrew software). D'oh!

I guess they have reason to hold onto them, esp. with the rarity and demand. I knew I should've thought ahead and bought one of these kits from Hong Kong back then they were "hot stuff". Never thought I'd want to dev. for WonderSwan, though. That's the problem when you don't think about these things early.

I remember a few years back at ECTS there was a wonderswan dev kit. It was a small stall that not many people seemed to take much notice of. I tried a few games, and thought it was quite cool.

I can't say I've seen the flasher, but if they were sold for a while, doubtless there'll be someone out there willing to sell. Any luck on eBay Taiwan?

True, but the rarity & high price of the WonderWitch are what drive me away from buying it. I'd pay $400 for Vectrex 3d glasses if I had to, but I wouldn't spout $300 for a Wonderswan dev. kit.

Nice Macintosh in the background, by the way. Daddy like.

I have a Wonderwitch kit but sadly have no idea how to use it and get games flashed to the cart. If someone could help in that regard, I'd be more than grateful. C'mon, help out a temporarily-handicapped fellow board-member. ;)

Games...? Don't you mean, "I don't know how to get my completely original and legal test programs onto the flash?" Yeah, I feel you.

No, I actually meant the demos and homebrew games that are apparently available for download at the Wonderwitch website, which would hopefully include perhaps a demo or the like of Judgement Silversword. I have no need for pirated roms. Whatever WSC/WS official releases I have interest in I already have in my collection.
