I received some IP spoof fake paypal emails. REALLY professional hacker shit. Don't check any "disputes" through any email. Always do a direct login. I never pay attention to any paypal emails except coupons with codes.
Paypal will also verify the email to see if it's legit or not by forwarding it on to their anti-fraud team. I've done that several times myself.
Why bother? just log in manually and check. I have received several of those, firts time I was almost tempted...:banghead:
These were REALLY GOOD They almost fooled me, and I'm no sucker for spam. The IP spoofed the entire site, even down to the logos.
I got one the other day but just to be on the safe side I logged in using he official site. As I thought, no problem with my account. Yakumo
well the trick is to scare you that much that you forget to think straight and baam! you log into a faked page ...
yeh i have had one a about a year ago and my account was hacked but paypal stoped it straight away some change my password paypal put a stop on that account now sorted but was scarey as my bank details was there
Just got a PayPal email a few hours ago about my account and remembered this thread. As always though i open a new FF tab and manually go to the PayPal website so if i got any messages when i logged in then i know its real which it was.
I have a separate bank account for PayPal, that way, if someone did hack into the account the damage would be considerably less both in time, effort and financially compared to main bank account issues. Call me paranoid!
Thank you for the warning i will keep an eye on my e-mail's and if i spot anything i will let you know.
I have just checked my e-mail's and i had a paypal e-mail it said have you checked your account recently in the subject box so i deleted the e-mail as i didn't want to risk it.
Well, I simply have no bank, c/c and any other details with my paypal account. If I need to make payment either I send the fund beforehand or add c/c and remove afterwards... Works well for last 7 years or so...
