You know the type of place i`m talking about, everyone looks around at all the overpriced rare games and nobody buys them, seems like every import game is a real rarity in these places too. It just does make good business sense to price these games so highly they won`t sell and these places wonder why they go under! aaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrggggggghhhhhhhhh Gamestation not taking in import games also really annoys me. Years of the games being overpriced and now they have been sold some stuff is going in the bin! i picked up a load of stuff today which was headed for the bin as i know the ppl who work there. Rant over thanks for listening
maybe over in the UK but retro shops in the US don't exist or really struggle to keep up the Nazis known as EB/Gamestop But On Amazon some old square game are mad expensive I'm trying to get a black label FF VII because ashamed as I am to say I never played it and it could run be between $60-180 that's bullshit to me. Einhander? I need to pay at least $70 for a complete edition prices might fare better on Ebay but I'm locked out of my own pay pal account (insane mother)
Speaking of overpriced games, who pays $200+ for Radiant Silvergun or some other games like it? I really wonder how people figure out these dillusional prices. I have to figure there's one greedy bastard that gets lucky cause one desperate or rich guy actually buys it, then everyone else assumes they should be able to get ATLEAST that if not more. It's sad because there are so many good games that will just go to waste. I think Captain Commando on PSX is another that's retardedly overpriced. Esspecially since it's available on PS2 now everything for cheap in a collection.
The MOST I will pay tops for a game is $80 US and the 3 times I have I was greatly disapointed with 2 of the games Games I paid $80 for Vampire Chronicles- Love it wish I spent more time with it Border Down- I paid $80 to die alot and not get anywhere and have to memorize 3 levels DJ Max- PSP and music games doen't mix but it's the prestege box so it'll be worth something.
Actually, Gamestation will take import games if they believe they can sell them. E.G. Brought down some decent USA Gamecube games with a Freeloader? Sure, we'd take it. Bring down some Super Famicom Games? We wouldn't really want to take 'em as there is very little market for them. You may want to find imports and rare titles, but most customers are happy finding Call Of Duty or Fifa.
i fully understand they cant cater to individual tastes, it`s just a shame there isnt a bigger market for them here. then again, there would be a lot more competition and i`d probably not be able to find the titles i wanted.
It has always annoyed me that the likes of Gamestation refuse to sell damaged, incomplete or dubious console material but from their particular perspective as the UK heads towards more of a claiming culture, they would leave themselves open to being sued if anything happened to someone attempting to use or repair these items. Far cheaper for them to ditch the stuff! They've been dumping stuff well before they were sold off.
i`m gonna ask if i can look in there bin as i already salvaged a few bits, they`ll say yes, its whether i can stand people looking at me go through a bin. i think i can ;-) this isnt any old time to check they had games piled up around the bin today as they`re geting rid of everything
I wish EB here would do that but nooooo not only do they do that they sell them for the SAME as a complete copy. Sometimes they sell used copies are new.
