As we know, Sega built US version Game Gear hardware to use a center positive DC adapter (like model 2 Genesis). But did we receive the other way seen elsewhere in the world? Just wondering. :encouragement:
All the Game Gears Ive every had (and saw) in the UK and Japan, have always been centre negative and these include the various flat and raised screen Game Gears, the white one and the kids gear.
Does that mean we can 100% say if a Game Gear uses center positive, it is USA hardware. And if a Game Gear uses center negative, it is not? Myself I've never seen the center negative version knowingly.
Nope. Game Gear launched years earlier. It's technically more correct to say that Sega decided to use the North American Game Gear PSU for most region Genesis 2, Megadrive 2, and 32X. (though I can't be sure about Brazil, Korea, or other such places) MK-2103 branded for US GG does exist. 10v DC 850ma, center positive. I found a picture.
