Why did 50,000 people buy the "older" style DS? Is the shortage of the DS Lite so bad that they had no choice?
It's all about the games, foo. That is, the DS software must be so hot right now that people are impatient over the prospect of a DS lite that they'll just settle for a DS phat and call it a day. Possible explanation.

Well they just came out with a 10,000 count World Cup edition with the Japanese blue trim on the front panel. I was thinking...if XBOX only sells 2,000 a week then it would take a month to sell all of these "Special Editions" if everyone bought that console only heh. Just a sobering thought.
Those 16 xboxes that were sold remind me of back in the days, when the list still included wonderswan crystal(in 2002 or so) selling 10 per week or so.
