Hi everyone, i am encountering a weird modbo 4 problem. I normally use modbo 5 chips but someone locally was selling some modbo 4 chips... Anyway...... I Soldered modbo 4 chips into 2 x ps2 slims and 1 x fat... My problem is that 50 percent of the time when i turn the consoles on... It doesnt boot, turns on, black screen... And the other times it boots to the matrix logo then plays etc... I Have tried using thicker guage cable for the power side of the chip.... Same issue Can anyone help.... Bearing in mind, i can pretty much chip these consoles blindfolded...
Modbo 4s work fine in all consoles. I've used them for years and also supply them. Maybe you have bad batch or they are the 1.99 versions? I don't touch the 1.99s or modbo 5s Could also be install, we are all only human. To believe it can't possibly be your work can cause you hours of looking in the wrong place.
I Just csnt understand why im having this trouble, literally do so many ps2s. My modbo 4 chips have a CLK pad also...
Try using Modbo 760, they do not need clk point. The black screen is generally given by a incorrect welding of points in the bios area.
it's intermittent about 50% of the time, i think the chips i have are low low quality clones, and the modbo's i have A CLK point and a CX point
i think they are low low quality clones i have, just ordered more modbo 5's as they work 100% of the time for me
I just done a 7900x and a 3900x with modbo 5s and they work flawlessly, reason I went with the 5 is they run 1.93 and all the 4s I seen were 1.99, I also found I had to use H point which wasn't listen for the pal v7 but it wouldn't run ps2 back ups without it.
SOLVED!!!! The 3 consoles that i used the modbo 4 chips in, i replaced them with some modbo 5's and they all work 100% all of the time... must have been a bad batch
Yes, but they at least work. The fake modbo 4s have traces that run to the spi chip, but don't actually connect to the legs etc. God knows why
