has this ever happened to you? Playing shining force 3 and during battle the battle cutscene went dark and couple seconds later read the message Cd read error! Please check cd and pickup lens Time 16043(counter) I think its very rare for this to happen.
Sounds like it was trying to load data and after failing several times it throws this error after giving up. I don't think it's "rare" on poor condition discs or CD-ROM drives that need maintenance. I imagine atleast some other games on Saturn can do this too. The Playstation can do something similar but I'm not sure of any particular games that might actually show a message on screen about it. I think lots of PS2 era games do something similar for "Disc Read Error" issues.
