That show is VERY old, maybe about 20 years or so. To make it worse, most of the idiots on it are still on TV doing the same shit.

 

Yeah, it's strange... but is it any more strange than the other retarted shit they have on shows like Kami no Entertain today? Guys saving a girl from being raped wearing large breasted body suits, waking up Kojima Yoshio by having a stag beetle pinch his nostral... the stuff with Hard Gay a few years ago. It's ALL very very strange. Hell, I get pictures of 12 year old girls wearing underwear in the mail advertizing their "modeling". We lived in a seriously F'ed up country. Who's surprised at the high ratio of adult perverts in this country when this kind of garbage is in the media every day?

Too F*ing right. The stuff that's counted as TV entertainment here is retarded at best! I'm always banging on about how shit Japanese TV is but honestly I'm so shocked at how poor it is. There's absolutely no variety at all. I understand Japanese to a pretty decent high level yet I can't find anything on TV that I want to sit down and watch. UK downloaded shows count 5 or 6 main programs each week. While this isn't a great number it's better than 0.

Sorry for going on, I'm in a foul mood at the moment and the missus is watching tits eating (As fucking always) and talking complete crap (as always) and laughing at themselves (as always). There's nothing on TV that gives the impression they are doing it for the audience. It always seems to be done for their own little group in the studio. OH:

 

There were a small few dramas that I did enjoy, but they are few and far between. There was an old one about some wondering guy from the inaka, I think a bit mentally handicapped, who basically just travelled the countryside and helped people who needed help. There was one story arch that had him finding a homeless boy who's mother had ran away from his father, but the father had just died, so the main character took the boy with him on his travels to help him find his mom. Sorry, I know that's vague, but that's all I've got. 98.7% of the time, Japanese TV is utter rubbish. It is occasionally entertaining, but as you said most "talent" seem to be entertaining themselves as a priority... and if the audience likes it, then that's just a bonus for them.

And that's my main point. Most of you guys only see clips of this crap on the net. Imagine having this type of crap in your living room EVERY day. Believe me, you'll soon tire of it.
