Like yeah, got any memories of memorable gaming? Not just playing a game and swearing but weird things you did while playing or certain things you did also XD I had a great time in 2008 at my aunt's house playing Midnight Club 3: DUB Edition REMIX, muted the sound and played Capture the flag with AI opponents while playing Boney M - Sunny & Daddy Cool and then also Lenny Kravitz - Fly Away while on free driving mode alone oh and let's not forget the snacks, Toasted bread with jam and orange juice <3333 MMMMMMM How about yours?
Years ago when the N64 was the newest console I remember literally staying up all night with one of my friends playing a mixture of Rush 2 and Top Gear Overdrive. We must have spent at least half the time with Rush 2, and the funny thing is the entire time we were playing the stunt track, over and over and over, trying to get all the little hidden stuff and going for high scores, trying all the cars and stuff. I went home after breakfast, and just crashed. And now the Rush 2 stunt track is forever burned into my brain.
Ah reminds me of one of my oldest: 2001: me and olli, my uncle's best friend, were watching Bob patterson until it was GTA 3 time! I remember i was waiting excitedly for the show to end so we would start playing, me only 7 and him 24 2002: My uncle was playing Postal 2 in a different room and I was in the living room watching Music videos and "Where is the love?" by Black Eyed peas came on and I saw them play POSTAL 2 in the video at the same time he was playing so I ran in to tell him but i was too late.. he was in the bathroom! so i never managed to tell him. XD
Ultima 5 for Commodore 64. I spent so much time playing that trying to find every clue, trying to find every secrets, and getting further in the game. At times I'd dream that I was still playing because I played so much during the day. As this was before Al Gore "invented" internet, I didn't have an easy way to look up answers and clue book were hard to find back then, local stores were always out. My school teacher wouldn't call this fun, they were still waiting for assignments months later.
This was quite a scary one. 2 years ago I was playing Skyrim. Suddenly my phone rang, the number was unknown and I picked it up. A guy was saying that he would beat me up unless I give him back his money and he ''knows'' where I live. It turns out that I sold a PS3 2 weeks earlier to this guys family and a few days later it got the YLOD. I politely said that the console was working when I sold it and I don't know why and how it got YLOD. He got furious and said that I better be careful when I go outside. That's when I ended the call. Heard from him again after 3 weeks. He basically said the same thing and I said the same response. That time, he said that he and he's ''friends'' would find me and make me regret about it. Gotta say, my heart rate went up a bit. That's the last time I ever heard from him.
Yikes proarturs, did you call the police? Gaming memories for me, I used to play Goldeneye on the N64 to death and stumbled on some epic glitches. My favourite was playing Bunker with all cheats enabled, and somehow (I don't know precisely what, but it involved blowing up the main Goldeneye screen), the game glitches so that any non-bullet projectiles, when fired/thrown, would freeze mid-air as soon as you hit the trigger. I have no idea how it happened but it was epic. Earlier memories is being at my friend's place and playing on his Mega Drive. I was Nintendo, he was Sega, but I always had fun with his machines. I remember RC Pro Am (may have been Master System), Turtles Tournament Challenge, and Alien Storm. Fun times.
No, I didn't. Would the police take a 12 year old kid at the time seriously ? And I live in Eastern Europe. It's quite normal that people say that they will beat you up, but unless they actually do anything, there is no point going to the police. Yeah, the ''mob''. How could he find me anyway, if he hasn't seen me in person and he lives in a different city. He's father just drove a little while to my city and we met near a Supermarket. I always meet unknown people in public places.
Wow @proarturs , that's tough @OP: So many memories! I remember pulling all nighters with my cousin and a friend on the N64 back at the time, mostly playing Smash, Perfect Dark, Mario Party, Mario Kart, and of course, Pokemon Stadium minigames Other great memories I have are playing RYL, the only MMORPG I played extensively and Starcraft Brood War on LAN at my place with my cousin and some friends. Back in early 2010 I had an illness that had me at home for almost 3 months, and I played the shit out of Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, put on an insane amount of hours, and remember I had like 10 GB of mods installed, those were fun times!
Thanks for the encouragement I too have done all nighters with a friend. We mostly play on the PC and go for a drive early in the morning. We have had some of the most intense 1vs1 Tekken 5 matches ever ! Bethesda knows how to make their games appealing, that's why many people including me, have spent 100's of hours in their games.
We could collectively boff him up. Bring said PS3 into the action as a blunt object! The only yellow things he'll be seeing are stars! That would be a weird, psuedo-fun gaming memory... I may have gotten a bit carried away there. On a more serious note, I remember renting Super Mario 64 for the first time when I was younger. We rented it then I had to wait with my dad for some Chinese food, and I remember the wait being soooo long. As soon as I got it home, I remember diving right in while my parents ate Chinese and watched. Flying through Bom-Omb Battlefield will never feel the same again.
hahaha love that story! Fun-Life-Gaming memories are amazing, stories like that is what I was looking for!
