Amstrad GX4000, if only they had used a super Z80 like the Ascii R800 chip or even a fast Z180 chip rather then a bog standard Z80 to try and shift all the graphics data around. >_<
I remember this console being released and it being killed off really quickly - and can testify to the bargain bins in various high street suppliers. It probably costs more now on eBay than it did then new! Not only did it kill Amstrad's console, it also killed off their 8-bit computer line and for some reason they never developed a 16-bit range, which was always a shame.
My mate had one of those at the same time I had a NES (1991..ish) - it was fookin' shite then but I never said.
