What Android or iOS phone/tablet games have you been playing or enjoyed?

    This thread includes windows phone/tablet.

Been playing Galaxy on fire 2 HD for the android, gfx are excellent, love the rpg element gives it that wing commander privateer feel. Also steering with the accelerometer Is a nice touch. Never played the pc version so can't compare but this is probably the best android game I've picked up.

I also recently tried CONTRA EVOLUTION, it was decent, had all the gameplay of the nes Version. the way enemies and the protagonists move is like a gimped turrican ha they could have done a better job. I was impressing with the vertical levels the most. One huge disappointment was sound effects, anybody that's played contra or super contra in the arcade or through emulation knows when things explode they go !!! KA-BLOOIE-BOOM-BANG-POW!!! In this its more a boom lol really takes away from the feeling. I know its more of a port of the nes but come on impressive explosions go along way.

None lately but I like the idea of this thread to point out to actually good IOS or Android games. All of the top 100 in the IOS store I have zero interest in at all.

I don't care too much for gaming on mobile platforms whether if its on my iPhone or my iPad First Generation. I think the only two or three games I really ever play when I'm bored is Angry Birds Star Wars (my lady usually always plays this when we are in the car), Solitaire, and Backgammon. When I was using an Android phone for a few weeks, I was using that device mainly for GBA emulation seeing as I wanted to play Mother 3 and Pokemon Fire Red on the go but I just don't like mobile gaming. I used to play Temple Run because the control fit well with the iPhone but actual games that have me using an on-screen controller are usually a no-go for me. I don't know what it is about on-screen controls, but I just don't like them because I'm always afraid that it's going to ruin my experience. The only other game aside from Temple Run and Angry Birds Star Wars that I felt the controls were fine for was Infinity Blade and that game got old real quick once I reached a high level to finish the game and unlock most of the Game Center achievements.

Yea you got sucked Into that top 100 list as DECKARDBR Mentioned, Ive found that googling the games and some research gives some great finds. What I think they should make for the mobile touch devices is real time stratagy games that would be awesome!

It's not so much that I got sucked into the Top 100 list, I just don't like playing too many games on my iPhone or my iPad because of control. I know there are good games out there, but I find that if I want to play anything on the go, I just resort to my 3DS.

As for RTS games on mobile, those would be nice and would probably change my mind on mobile gaming if there were ones that I would actually enjoy playing without the gimmick of paying for things in the game. I don't mind the price tag on the games on the App Store because those games take time to develop; however, I have an issue where I have to pay the price for the game to only then be greeted with pay-to-win options like buying more moves or buying new characters. I like games where I have all of the content right in front of me and I actually have to play the game to unlock the better options and weapons instead of having to pay $4.99 for a weapons pack which has exclusive OP weapons, perks, or characters.

^yea that makes complete sense. With gof2 I bought the level and content addon on but I cracked it to get the gameplay and other things to make the enjoyment smoother. As with the rts that would work incredibly well touch sc reen to pick and move troops and pick strategies, gear, ect use the accellerometer to move and turn the map and zoom in out. Its almost questionable why no ones jumped on it already.

Cave's iOS games are permanent fixtures on my iPhone. So great to kill time with when I'm out and about, and surprisingly decent ports as well.

I got this game call WILD BLOOD last night https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6t3tGGtOY8Y&feature=youtube_gdata_player .really awesome arcade hack and slash reminds me a lot of sword of the beserker for dreamcast. Controls are great, action is great, gfx are great, sound is great, story is who cares kill stuff. I highly recommend it.

Gameplay video here just dosnt do it justice. Gameloft did an amazing job.

Super Hexagon, DoDonPachi Resurrection, and Ziggurat never leave my iPhone. The iPhone is a really fantastic gaming device if you look past the casual releases. Heck, a lot of the casual games on it are pretty stellar (Cut the Rope and Bejeweled are my go-tos)

I second that, we should make a list, particularly those great games that didn't go mainstream and you hardly hear about.

The only "good" phone game I've played so far is Crimson Dragon: Side Story (Windows 8 exclusive).

Other than that I played Angry Birds Star Wars (garbage), Chaos Rings (more garbage), and Halo: Spartan Assault (horrible controls). I'll likely pick up the Final Fantasy port for my Lumia 920 soon, just because I'm a sucker for the original FF, though none of the remakes have been anywhere near as good as the NES original.

Civilization Revolution. Addictive as hell, controls perfect for tablet, and simplified rules compared to other Civ games so a single game only takes a couple of hours. Makes time fly!

I have not tried that yet but doing some research i found a really awesome looking turn based rpgs one called Eternal legacy seems to have a final fantasy 7 feel to it even the main character reminds me of cloud strife

i also looked at symphony of eternity that a friend was hyping up, i did not like what i saw very much but if soneone is a fan of nes FF style game play i can see it being good.

i also came about 2 games that look like complete gems Chaos ring and chaos rings 2 they look excellent maybe even outdoing ffiv. ill let everyone know asp after i try them out.

AHH YEAHS!!! this is a type of game i was looking for
