I have coinops lite 7 for friends who just want to keep the original hard drive Coinops Massive 7 for anyone who wants an upgraded Hd but.. What is coinops gold, coinops premium, coinops standalone? I can't seem to find what all the different types are. I'd also love to have a coinops that is ONLY all the arcade games from Massive. Does such a thing exist? or would I have to download massive and then delete all the console stuff? appreciate any help you guys can give. This website has been a lifesaver...well, console saver, since I joined!
For my primary Xbox, I do like the emulators separate. However: I was looking for an arcade only version of coinops because Mameox isn't playing about 20% of the arcade roms correctly that CoinOps 7 does such as: Primal Rage, Killer Instinct 1&2, Samurai Showdon V Special etc. I was hoping to switch out mameox for a coinops arcade only set-up in my "arcade" section.
Those 20% are probably emulated via FBA(Legends) or Killer Instinct XXX. I can understand the reason to have it all under one roof, but I don't know what all those releases are either. You might as well ask the author yourself. But don't say I didn't warn you.
Thanks, Yeah I just posted on their site. Rather confusing..plus there's all the previous versions. and I do realize coin ops is just a bunch of emulators all under one roof. Thats why I only wanted that for Arcade stuff, it gets to be way to much to filter when you want a certain console. They did just release a laserdisc only emulator that's supposed to work pretty good. Going to check it out tonight if I can pry myself away from the street fighter V beta.
Coinops and Premium are actually quite nice. They have an FAQ on their forums that explains all of the different versions. http://coinopsproject.freeforums.org/site-faq-and-welcome-t4623.html Coinops massive is over 60gb but it has a shitload of games from all of the classic consoles. Premium 5 has a nice gui and sorts everything out nicely but doesn't have as much games. Anyway if you didn't bother to read the faq link that I posted above then.. Coinops Massive 7 contains all games which is 60gb+ Coinops Standalone is just an empty coinops and you must add or make your own rom packs Coinops Lite & Gold are just smaller packs for people with stock hard drives Coinops Premium or "Premium" is just a nice eyecandy version of coinops For any more information then just go through their forums because all questions are most likely already answered there.
Thanks so much, I've worked with Lite and Massive, just not the rest. Seems like if I only want to have the arcade stuff, i'd either want to go with massive and delete everything else or go with standalone and add everything. Either way it seems like a lot of work since i'd ave to delete or add not just the rom but the associated video, marque, etc. Heck, I still can't figure out how to update the laser Disc games with the new update they released..no instructions in the pak which is strange. Again, thanks for the clarification!
