What are some other names for a video game kiosk. I'm going to call pawn shops tomorrow and would like to know more names for them.

A stand? A console display? Maybe.

Wow, they sell those at pawn shops? I always thought you just get those off ebay or someone on craigslist (or sites like this, which is kinda rare to find someone that is within reasonable distance of your area). I normally refer to them as in store displays, or console demo units. Are you looking for ones with specific systems? I remember back in the day when a local Toy's R Us was closing down, and they were selling all their kiosks (or whatever you call them), and I wanted to buy the Super Nintendo one, but even though they would change the game inside the system every now and then, it had the title screen for Super Mario World burned into the screen. That's something you may want to check on, that is, if the pawn shop can demo it for you. Many people that sell those things with no system inside. I always find it humorous when someone turns those into MAME "cabinets".

I'm not too sure if pawn shops will have them(i doubt it) But I'd rather give places a call then drive stop drive stop drive stop... One guy, I think from this forum, got it a Saturn kiosk at a thrift store...
It's a long shot. But I haven't had any more luck on craigslist since I got my Saturn and DC kiosk... and eBay's shipping kills

Wow good score for you! I remember a Saturn kiosk at that same Toy's R Us I mentioned earlier (although the system was gone well before they closed that store down, with the empty display still there). Did your DC kiosk include a VGA monitor? In my experience, most seem to come with crappy monitors (or a regular TV), but I remember the SNES one had an RGB monitor.

Just make sure that you can demo the unit before you buy it. Who knows what works and what doesn't when you get it home if you don't try it out first. I honestly would love a Gameboy (Mono, not color or advanced) kiosk, as it was the only way before Super Gameboy, of playing Gameboy on a larger screen.
