With all the shmups being released for the system I think it's something they may consider.

However it wouldn't be wise to release the thing outside of Japan.

Is there anything below zero? Though I would love to be proved wrong in a big way. They are making great sales on the PS2 at the moment. So there really is no real reason to release a console just for shooters that we are already getting ported - and good ports as well.

Still nice idea though - if it means I get ibara and ketsui sooner, then it can only be good. Lets just be happy with the legacy DC has already given us.

Chances are near zero: They have new arcade software, a strong line-up for actual and future videogame consoles.

I would expect Dreamcast related hardware to be re-released in 5 years. Think of something like those Mega-Drive joypads with plugged-in games. A Dreamcast controller with 10 built-in games on ROM should be cheap in some years.

Atleast it exists in a hardware form that sees released games. I've been wanting to set up a supergun with an Atomiswave board for awhile.

As well as the Naomi board which still sees fairly regular releases.

Assembler, just playing around and being semi serious, but please make an announcement or a sticky where any member can ask the question about Sega re-entering the console market and just have that thread say a big fat 0 chance unless sega has 5 times more money than it has now and has ideas that will keep the console alive.

It's not that I'm annoyed by these threads, it's just that I've been noticing more and more of these pop up at least once a month and we come to the conclusion that sega will most likely not re-enter the console business.

So do you think this is something that needs to be addressed like so or just leave it be?

    *update*

    So it shall be written....

    Leave it as it is.

I wish they could re-release it to play Dreamcast, Saturn, & Sega CD/Mega CD discs!

Maybe the emus for the DC would come out before the hardware is even thought of. :(

i could have sworn this thread was closed, no wait that was the other one about it.....never the less,

although financially unfeasable, is sega still crazy in debt?...it could be done, and considering the amount of these type threads latly, on every forum that is, sega cant ignore it for long.......what we may end up getting would be like a "best of dreamcast series" discs, but a rerelease of the dc would be cooler,.....if not subtract from the allure of dreamcasting though
