What are the transistors that let the GameCube do 480p?

Hello everyone! So I was doing some research on how to get 480p out of a DOL-101 GameCube and came across this thread. It shows that the official GameCube Component cable works on a DOL-101. Using this as a guide, you can also install GCVideo lite and GCVideo DVI into a DOL-101 to get RGBS, VGA, YPbPr Component video, and/or HDMI.

There is one problem though. The DOL-001 GC has a couple of transistors connected to the GPU. These transistors are missing from the DOL-101 GC, preventing it from enabling 480p even though the 54MHz signal needed for 480p is still on the DOL-101. Without them, you are stuck with 480i/576i and below.

What transistors are these and where can we get new ones? If there is no visible part number, can someone check them with an oscilloscope? Any help will be highly appreciated!

Also, please do not say "just get a DOL-001". I want to use my DOL-101 for the GCVideo DVI mod.

Pretty sure they are just switching diodes for ESD protection. They shouldn't be needed for the circuit to function. They are more than likely for ESD protection when the component cable is plugged in or out so if you are installing the GCVideo lite then you will be able to get away with not needing them as there will be no cable to plug or unplug, well not on that part of the circuit at least.

I'm installing GCVideo DVI since it will be better quality and easier to assemble. The official cable doesn't go into 480p mode without these transistors connected to the GPU. It will function fine but it won't go higher than 480i/576i.

On that thread that you linked to in your first post it says:

Have you tried it or is there another source that states that it won't go into 480p mode without them?

Later on in the thread, a person says they tried it with and without the transistors. 480p worked with them and didn't work without them.

Okay, If that is the case which seems strange then the parts you are looking for are these or very similar:

    M1MA151WAT1
    M1MA151WKT1

It's been a long while since I traced that circuit on the GameCube though, so I would have to check again when I have time to confirm. So just take the above with a pinch of salt for now.

Ok thank you! I'll wait for you to confirm it before buying them.

Just had another look and they are switching diodes. They are marked MO and MU.

The closest match would be M1MA152WAT1 and M1MA152WKT1 respectively.

They are in a slightly larger package than the ones in the GC but I'm not sure what the exact part number is for that package so these are your next best option.

M1MA152WAT1 (MO) should be connected Anode to GND and M1MA152WKT1 (MU) should be connected cathode to 3.3v or 5v, whatever the GC uses on that circuit.
