wow! hadn't made a thread on this site in a very long time (besides the Super Acan post) but anyways I've never hear you or anyone in these talk about the PlayStation Vita "PS Vita" or PlayStation TV (it's technically a Vita made into a small set top box similar to those android tv boxes, amazon tv devices, etc...) and lately I've been playing with a couple of games that came on the platform and so far the majority of games are nothing but crappy eechi/sexual (porn) and VERY boring dungeon crawlers and JRPGs (outside of the obvious Persona 4 Golden, Oreshika Tainted Bloodlines, and Phantasy Star Nova) It's really hard for me to pick ANY good titles on the thing now while with the Nintendo 3DS i can pick a crap ton in comparison! I remember having my White Assassin Creed III Liberation limited edition Vita for Christmas and like about 2 or 3 years later after it's launch i got pretty fed up and bored with it to the point i sold the damn thing on craigslist and gotten my brother's Nintendo 3DS XL since he wasn't using at all for awhile and instantly fell in love with it and had tons more i'd ever had with over the Vita! So did you guys had a similar experience? Did you loved the Vita, Do you still like it despite it failing in the west and didn't mind those type of Japanese games? or did/do you hate it?
The Vita has a totally different library compared to the 3DS. They aimed for more of a console experience on the go. So they had games like Runner 2(loooove this game), Rayman Legends, Killzone (great game), NFS Most Wanted (great for a portable version from the era), and other portable versions of popular console games. I like the system, the OLED screen just makes games pop
I've found a few major titles that I loved, but sadly it seems like the console might be showing signs of dying out because some new titles are appearing on only the PS4 at the moment... Since games here are usually quite expensive (~S$80) here, the titles I purchase are the ones that I actually like. It's also a replacement for my PSPs (hence the PSP library is also applicable for it), which are failing due to part wear. Maybe you just do not appreciate the genre of games. Since it failed in the west, it naturally means that its library probably won't continue to grow. Another implication is that the games would have favoured the Japanese (and at most, Asian) market. For example, my PSVita is the Project DIVA Limited Edition, so naturally one of my favourites was Project DIVA f. Here's what I own (excluding the PSP games): Project DIVA f Project DIVA f 2nd Disgaea 3 DJMax Technika Tune IA/VT Colourful Sword Art Online: Hollow Realization Ragnarok Odyssey Ace Arcana Heart 3 Super Heroine Chronicle Macross Delta Senran Kagura: Shinovi Versus Senran Kagura: Estival Versus There used to be Phantasy Star Online 2, but I deleted it shortly after because it took up a lot of space on my 8GB stick. In 2012, the memory sticks were prohibitively expensive. There were some titles on the PSP that I wish that its maker(s) would remake for the PSVita or even any newer console. But sadly, it seems like their makers won't do that, so their PSP versions would have to do. Perhaps I don't talk so much about my PSVita because I know that not everybody owns one. I don't game much (in fact, less than before), in general. Back in the days of the PSP, a lot of my friends would have owned one. Perhaps because its design allowed for piracy though...
I always appreciated the number of indie titles available to play on the Vita. It's nice to take indies on the go and not be locked to a PC.
