Well, let's play a little game. We'd all guess what kind of video game console we'd be depending on what year any of you are born in.For example, I was born in 1993, so I'd either be an Atari Jaguar or a Panasonic REAL 3DO, since both were released in 1993. If your birth year matches the year that a video game console was released in, you would imagine what console from that year you'd be. It's okay if you don't like it, and I respect whatever decision you'd make to delete this topic because you think it's pointless.
And then after correlating our birth year with console releases...? "As a Sega Master System I'd feel like a red-headed step child who was loved by his mother but passed up on for my NES cousin who got all the chicks, was quarter-back on the football team and was class Valedictorian and now owns several car dealeships." I'd swear I stopped posting at GameFaqs about a decade ago.
the point of this topic is to imagine ourselves as video game consoles that were released in our birth years. say there's a guy who is born in 1989, and the Sega Genesis was released in 1989, and he'd be a Genesis!
I would be the Epoch Cassette Vision, released when I was exactly 19 days old. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Epoch_Cassette_Vision
This seems a little daft to be honest but meh... I won't be anything. Why? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/North_American_video_game_crash_of_1983 The closest thing to me is the Casio PV-1000...
I'd be a Japanese Mega Drive. Kinda cool because I was born in Japan, so it kinda makes sense. 1988 represent! Which is lame. I'd see my self as a Neo Geo because I have expensive fucking taste, and only settle for the best thing while maintaining elegance.
I'd rather correlate consoles with myself. I would be a Sega Saturn. Bulky, everyone does their shit better than me, yet I am friendly.
I'd be the GameBoy or the Lynx, but the Lynx is some months younger and I don't like it, so my vote goes for GameBoy. Was my first own game system as well and I still feel the love for it, although I'm not into collecting the games. Console-wise I'd go for PC-Engine. Not because of the gang-bang factor ("oh yeah, c'm on CD-ROM^2, let's get some quality-time on my virtual cushion and take some AV boosters to get started!") but because it was very ambitious with lots of different formats and hardware, yet successfull (in Japan at least).
I'd certainly be an NES. I have mass appeal, if blown regularly will perform better and my graphics are old but time froze and I became a classic
If this were due to personal characteristics and not due to birth year, I would probably be the Intellivision (older, was seen by many as more intellectual, rather unknown nowadays, eclipsed by more popular and less intelligent competition) or the Dreamcast (Obscure, Quirky, both Under and Over appreciated, Noisy, Cheap).
According to japan-games website i'd be a nintendo TV-Game Block Kuzushi.. Starting to feel old now..
