This Christmas came and went far too quickly, as per usual, but I got a couple of things that made me happy. Now, I know it's not all about the presents.... but... well.. it's all about the presents I got a Soldering Station. Decent one with temperature control and LCD display and everything. Also got some spare tips with it, which is nice. I got Old Spice deodorant and shower gel and I got a beard maintaining set with mango and vanilla oil and wax with comb and scissors. Its fucking excellent. I got the PS4 version with 2 guitars. So far it hasn't really been necessary but I don't regret it at all since it was only like $20 more. I'd definitely advise getting it. The game itself is so different it more than makes up for the incompatibility with DLC and old guitars. The videos are amazing and so full of life and cheer. I remember mocking GHL when I saw it in a preview last year but when you actually get into it its really heartwarming. A good example is when I was doing well at a song someone in the audience held up a sign that said "I'm proud of you". Gameplay wise the new guitar is so much better than the old layout. Its deceptively simple, yet much more difficult to master. Now theres open strum notes, power chords (both buttons on one fret) as well as the regular chords which can involve 3 frets in any combination. Its so much more satisfying and the skill ceiling is way higher. All in all its such a pleasant surprise. THey didn't play it safe at all and it turns out so well. All the risks pay off. I'd give it a 9/10. As an added bonus there is the ability to sing along too! You can use the PS4 camera or kinect and it works pretty darn well. I found out about this feature by accident too so it was pretty cool. -doulomb
