I recently bought a few game on eBay and just received them in the mail. To my frustration one of the games was a "greatest hits" crap release, I personally hate these because they look so awfully ugly. The description from the seller was really just the standard description and showed a picture of the normal cover, so I expected the game to be that release and not what I got..

The thing is though that I bought a few games of him and he was very nice and gave me discount on the shipping so I don't really feel like I want to give him bad feedback because it's the "greatest hits" release. =/

The problem is also as this is a NTSC release AND "greatest hits" release it makes it hard for me to resell it to someone here in Sweden even though it is a sealed game.

    Any thoughts?

Tell him that you didn't want a greateasts hits copy and ask for a refund and send it back to him.

Give neutral feedback - won't hurt his rating, but should do enough to show your displeasure at getting the wrong item.

Note that most seller are not collector. So greatest hit, player's choice, first released is all the same thing for them.

So IMO when you see a stock picture on a auction it's your job to ask if it's really the version show since you are the collector.

I think it would be unfair to give it bad/neutral feedback, specially if the guy give you a good service and discount.

discuss for a beneficial solution before resorting to acts you can't amend later on.

get in contact with the seller first, he sounds like a nice guy and you might find a solution together.

yeah, absolutely contact them before resorting to bad feedback. every time something like this has happened to me the seller has been very helpful; one time i got a forty dollar switcher box for my consoles, only to have it arrive broken. the seller sent me another unit, free of charge.

you should never bid on or buy an item that has no picture, though, unless you're ok with taking your chances. if you want something specific or are picky about condition, send the seller a message about it.

I came to the conclusion that I don't have the time to bother with this so I will contact him, give him a friendly advice to mark these things up for us people that care about that sort of thing - as next time it could be some real ass that tries to scam him over it.
Then I'm going to give him positive feedback and later put it up for sale here in Sweden and hope I can get back what I spend on it (which wasn't that much).
Just got a bit disappointed when I opened up the package.
