today i checked out if i can fit the 3do m2 manuals into a apropriate home some kind keeper (dont know if its the right word in germany we call it "ordner") first problem is it has 3 holes where normal german paper (DIN A4 for example) has mostly 2 holes or some 4 holes so i thougt ok try out one of those transparent foils but the paper was too larger maybe 1-2mm to wide to fit in a normal DIN A4 foil so any of you us guys could name me the format cause i hadnt any luck finding those bureau stuff on ebay or google heres a picture for example (iam talking of the documents on the left site) thx for any help
does it have a name something like din a4 in germany us letter xyz 123 or so ? would help much at the search
mine says din a4 =) oh and is keeper the right word for those things where put them in or binder or how do you call these stuff (damn my english is rusty these days)
will try to find something where this letter format fits in right now the papers are just in a carton and i dont like it when things get destroyed while you read them (and i know it will happen =)
I don't know...If I wanted a binder to put those in...I'd just walk into an office suply store and say "I want a three ring binder." Standard paper size here is 8 1/2 in by 11 inch I believe...and thats what most binders will be for. UNLESS...that's "Legal" size paper...which I think might be something like 8 1/2 in by 14 inches. So...if that paper seems eerily long...it's probably "Legal" size. That helps, right? Edit: Oh...well...if it is 8.5 x 11...it's normally called "letter" size...or apparently...accroding to the first website i hit on google it is also called type "a."
I'm thinking it might be legal size for two reasons: 1. He's having so much trouble finding a binder for it. 2. The spacing between the holes looks pretty damn big.
in german normal format is A4 (must be the same like us letter standard) and the normal binders are 2 hole like this then there is also a 4 hole system which i could maybe use if i would find foils where the papers fit in (sizewise) looks like this but i havent been able to find 3 hole systems and the paper is to big to fit in a german norm foil without folding it just found a listing din a4 210 × 297mm letter 216 × 279mm so hight fits but wide not =(
I don't think that stuff is very common in Europe. A4 is pretty much the standard for paper - it's 210x297mm. I don't think I've ever seen any normal size folders (or "ring binders" or whatever you want to call them) that aren't A4, much like zappenduster. Though it seems "letter" size paper is available here - I've accidentally bought "letter" size envelopes before, and was wondering why I had to fold A4 paper in a really awkward way to get them in! I think you can get letter-size paper and envelopes here, but nothing else. You might find something more suitable in a more specialist stationery shop.
Have you tried checking office supply stores online? They might have more obscure things... I'd offer to see if I could find you one, but I'm at schoo, and have no car/time to go searching with.
No wonder Europeans are better at writing and reading comprehension, the paper you guys use is bigger than ours!! So, that means you guys have to write more than we do. It all makes sense now.
