Here's the file, listen, and give your vote http://www.fileden.com/files/2008/4/21/1876835/MICRECORD.ogg Its a mic recording, one of my game consoles is playing that tune, sound comes from my HiFi...
I'm hearing FM sound in there. MD or Neo-Geo, etc. Don't tell me it's a trick question and you have 2 (or more) consoles playing simultaneously.
Unless the 68000 is playing the tune, the samples sound a bit too crisp to be on the Megadrive. Doesn't sound like a SFC, so I'll go with the least powerful hardware of the PC Engine just because it can play samples better then the Megadrive (most of the time). Other is probably going to be a "Ha fooled you are, in fact it's a NES..."
The fact that it's not a direct recording doesn't help at all. Also that could be anything because it sounds like all sampled instruments. It's possible it's a Mega Drive playing a mod file but then again I've got Super Famicom stuff that has mod file playback and could sound like that. What ever it is it's not the hardware's "native" sound put it that way. I think I'll choose Mega Drive anyway since it's probably the most impressive out come since a SFC could do sound like that with ease and I just don't see it being on the PC Engine. Yakumo
This is coming from one game console... I made a mic recording to make the guessing a bit harder... A Line-In recording would reveal the machine too easily.
I could have had FM-Towns option there aswell, and maybe Neo Geo... I said its from one of MY game consoles, and I don't have these but you don't know what I have (yet I did not take advantage of it...) Anyway, its Mega Drive / Genesis... this one to be particular : Here's the line-in recording : http://www.fileden.com/files/2008/4/21/1876835/HappyThing.ogg And here's the ROM where you can hear this and more : http://www.fileden.com/files/2008/4/21/1876835/NEWTMFPLAY.rar
