Someone posted up on the Gamefaqs' XBox 360 board, asking "What game is this?": "1. [When you (the ingame character you control) are close to death then] The screen becomes monochrome 2. The screen's perspective becomes warped (fisheye, if you will) 3. The character's heartbeat can be heard; the screen will pulse and distort with each beat 4. Veinlike, grey-black structures begin to gradually creep into the center of the screen It was a shooter, or something like that." Thread: http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/927749-xbox-360/70038577 I have played this game (or at least one with the exact same effects), but I can't remember which game it was. Yes, many first (and third) person shooters do the screen-turns-grey-when-you-are-near-death effect, and when you hide for a few seconds you return to full health and the colour returns to the screen, but not many have red around the edges of the screen when your view is black and white, and I think only one or two have the vein effect too. I have played such a game, but I've played so many shooters that I can't remember which one it was. The game might be on the 360 and/or the PC or PS3, and I'm duplicating his/her post here, in case anyone here can help. Any ideas what this game is, please?
Im just throwing a wild guess out there, but i kind of remember The Darkness having that kind of an effect. Been years since I played it though so I may be remembering wrong.
I also can't remember exactly which game it is but I think skavenger216 is right. It may be The Darkness,
I just went and checked, its definitely NOT The Darkness. This is gonna bug me, I know exactly which game you are referring to, ill be damned if i can come up with a name for you though That damage effect sounds VERY familiar UPDATE: Just checked out some other games... Clive Barker's Jericho has pretty much this exact effect you are describing, minus the grayscale part
No, it's not CBJ, the screen in the game which we're looking for does definitely turn black and white other than the surrounding red. A very good guess, though, thanks.
