Well, I was a little bit off and there is no word about it since February... what happened to the disc? I believe it was sold, but will it ever be "released"? And no, I'm not asking for a free copy. I just want to know IF I'd ever be able to PAY for the game or if the owner will never release it for the public.

Sorry if I'm asking a silly question, I just would like to know what happened.

Oh, really? That's a bit frustrating... Anyway, thanks for the reply.

Yeah, it totally sucks. =( it seems like all the stupid sonic cult people had a hand in screwing stuff up.

I think that the owner of the proto has the right to do whatever he/she wants with it. Really, if a person spent $2,500-3,000 in a proto, he/she sure wanted that proto only for him/herself.

Part of what could have been Sonic Xtreme made it into Sonic Jam, so I don't really think there should be a big fuss about losing that proto which was just less than 1MB of data.

I think that it would be far better if coreycorey was able to run those (supposed) Mother 3 disks. :110:

isnt mother 3 supposedly being remade? I thought i read that somewhere by just googling "Mother 3", but then again, everything on the internet is true :katamari:

If you're talking about the torrent, it was a hoax.

I don't care about a pc version, just console.

Mother 3 was released last week for the GBA. It does not look appealing at all to me. Of course it is long awaited and stuff, but I only care about the Nintendo 64 version. There was a playable demo at SpaceWorld 99. Well, I REALLY wish the game was not screwed and lost forever. But then again, there was a playable demo of Dinossaur Planet and it has never surfaced.

Back to the Sonic Xtreme stuff: does anybody have a video of the 3D part of Sonic Jam in action? I haven't played Sonic Jam, but I have seen some videos of Xtreme and I'd like to compare Jam and Xtreme.

    Thanks again.

From a video I saw recently the game looks fun, console or PC, either way i'd like to take it for a spin.

Sonic Jam isn't anything particularly interesting. It's basically a collection of the Megadrive games with a bit of a 3D engine thrown in.

The 3D section is nothing more than a glorified menu. Very limited play area, a few bonuses such as collecting all the rings in a time limit and thats about it. Good graphics though and the video features are fantastic, much better than anything the recent 'collections' have had to offer.

But there are some small missions, you can collect rings and stuff, right? So, is it only some sort of token Sonic 3D gameplay? Are there monsters and stuff for sonic to destroy? Either way it is better than nothing actually.

From the videos I have seen, Xtreme would present spherical worlds. While the concept wowed me for about 2 minutes, playing a game like this must be a pain. If the game was going to be released like that, I think it would better be lost forever.

No game is better lost forever ;)

There is no point to the 3D engine in Sonic Jam. It's glue between the Megadrive games and the special features, that's all.

The bonus gameplay elements simply require you to collect rings or balloons as quickly as possible. Once you beat all of the time based challenges a giant ring (Sonic 1 style) appears at the back of the level, using a platform to get to it you are treated to the......

....credits! However they do contain great music and some nice CG pictures.

How exactly did the sonic cult people screw over any possibility of sonic xtreme ever being released?

I'm really glad im not part of the sonic fanatics. But, then again, being part of the Resident Evil crew has a couple drawbacks as well :banghead:
