Im looking for somthing that i can use for my DS that can extract & restore the save files off the cart so i can back it up & restore them to & from my pc.

Action replay would have been an good option but it dosent work with all games.

Theres so many bits of hardware about, i have no idea whats best. Im just looking for somthing thats plug & play without flashing my firmware & all kinds of crazy stuff.

My ds is from the first batch of Jpn DS's so it has the older firmware before nintendo changed it.

    Thanks in advance.

I think that what yu need is a PassME / WifiME (as you probably have the old firmware ver.), a GBA move player and some homebrew program that saves your game saves to the GBAMP. unfortantly I can't recall the name of the program.. but ask around on dsdev.org's forum

    Thanks for the info.

I have looked at lots of flash cart things & have found out a super card SD should be ok for the job.

So that & the rain save program should do the trick. Just need to buy the hardware now (^_^).

Just wondering if i will need the super pass (passme) to get rain to boot or will it do it on its own?

Yep, if it's DS homebrew, PassMe/WifiMe/FlashMe is required to load it.
(Although I've never actually tried RAIN on anything but a non-homebrew hacked DS. Maybe you'll work miracles. )

Yeah, it looks like sata added support for it so the Supercard SD should do the job. However, if you don't already have an SD card, the GBAMP is more homebrew friendly. You can make game backups as well, and devs seem to like the CF cards more than SD. But it's your call.

Also, don't be scared by the RAIN's all-Japanese homepage - the software itself is complete in English. :icon_bigg
