I think a better question is, what if the North American Saturn had gotten the RAM expansions that Japan got? I don't think the expansion slot was used for anything but the Netlink (which only had 5 games released anyway).
Wouldn't the main issue with a translation be the hacking work since Grandia was released on the Playstation internationally? I wonder if there is some technical reason why no one has attempted it or if it is just a case of no one with the needed skills has been interested in it enough. I figure you could lift the english script from the Playstation version.
Yeah, I too wonder why it has never been attempted. You'd think with the right skills it would be pretty simple since the translation work has already been done (albeit a pretty poor job of a translation), and you could just swap the Saturn fonts and text prompts with the Playstation ones.
Thanks they look amazing for user-made games, but IMHO it's years away from a professional looking game. I'd love to try it anyway
No problem and yeah i have to agree with you there lol, btw here's another two i've forgotten: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KU9B9dK_dmY & http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JWoik2rlj9o
Hi, it's the first time I have heard about Game Basic Saturn? What is it specifically? The Saturn version of Net Yarouze (Dedicated hardware included)? Or perhaps it's just a program that allows you BASIC -like capabilities?
U Yeah, it's pretty much like Net Yaroze for the Sega Saturn and yeah it has it's own special cable & software you hook up the system to the PC and then you start making games for it that way. As well as running up various homebrew created apps & games gotten from the interwebs
