There is a guy in Europe on eBay who makes them by hand and they're gold plated. I bought a pair from him and they're solid, no bleeding in the picture that is common with cheap s-video cables. https://www.ebay.com/itm/172366870197 It seems like last one but has other listings selling same cable. Snes has really good video chip so difference isn't quite as drastic as say a Genesis/ Mega Drive but of course RGB will be best quality. However S-video still had a nice sharpness to it and really keeps color bleeding to most minimum.

Those should be fine as long as the chroma is soldered to the right pin. On most cheap cables they seem to solder it to the composite pin instead causing this issue. Luckily I got the gamecube monster ones for $5 many years ago.
S-Video makes a huge difference with the SNES I found. The biggest tell for me was when I booted up Earthbound, look at NES' shirt when he's facing you. With composite it's a garble of color, with S-Video it's the proper yellow/blue stripe pattern. I managed to snag an official one from ebay for $30 shipped, always worth a look before buying a 3rd party. Those hand made ones look nice though, a very good alternative.
well I ordered the listed SNES version of this cable from the same seller/maker of the cable. I'm *praying* it works on my Super Famicom console. The multiout connector is identical for SNES/N64 and gamecube of all regions. The only incompatibility comes from using a PAL version of the cable on a NTSC machine. Apparently resistors are added inline to the video out.

those cost about $33, which is a little much for me. The one made by Gamesnow is shielded and grounded. I already ordered one from Gamesnow on ebay anyways.
You don't have the super famicom jr do you? 2nd model snes and super famicom jr don't support s-video without mod.
