    Media centre to play games?

XBMC is about the only media player worth mentioning. If you use it as a replacement dashboard (I think this is what you ment in your post?) you can run games from it via its application launcher. But I think you are confusing terms for the most part.

Personally I went with UnleashX as my dash then ran XBMC as an application.

Also, if you are softmodding - you have no reason to use a bios. That is for modchips and tsop flashes.

personally i always run XBMC as my main dashboard on my xbox's and have them all connected together on a network with a NAS box providing all the media, amazing once setup and you can stream all media from the NAS but unfortunately not games

however XBMC will allow you to install games to the HDD and launch them from there (no disc required) or you can just pop a game in the drive and away you go

I stopped using Xbox 1's some time ago - soon as I got a HD tv, SD stuff just looked terrible (same videos didnt look so bad on old CRT tv).

I since get a nettop (acer revo R3610, HDMI out, optical and ION) and use that with XBMC, couchpotato and sickbeard.
