I was reading gamespots preview for sonic gems collection, among other things besides teh U.S. version not having any of the streets of rage games to keep the game rated E, i was reading on various forums the reason why every U.S. release of sonic cd has american music and not japanese/euro music is because of licenssingg issues. Does anybody know what the deal is that does not allow the U.S. version to have this soundtrack, or is there some type of exclusive deal that sega of america had to honor with the music is has in the U.S. version?

Sounds like bull shit to me now that they know the world though it was a bad move. Personally I think it's because most American music in guitar based while European and Japanese like more of a synth/electric sound. This is probably the main reason why the changed it since they thought the game wouldn't sell with it's original and far superior soundtrack. Same goes with the US version of Initial D on DVD and many other things.

dont ge me started on the U.S. version of intial d, tokyopops extreme butchering of the show, id list what they did but its waaaayyy too much to list here, still after reading this im definetly going to import it, is it cheaper in japan then at the import store or no? Since i know its not out yet but play asia has it for $50 with $3 world wide shipping compare to ncs retarted $8 shipping which is for speedyer to delivery.
