I'm trying to find out about the official N64 Dev kit, and I've found information about the 64DD dev kit, a dev kit by SN Systems, and another by Ultra.

Is there an official kit ever released by Nintendo?

Or are the SN and Ultra ones the officially licensed kits?

You might have better luck posting this in the Nintendo Game Development section instead of the modding section! I'll put in a move request.

I'm sure this very question has been asked there before.

The original kit was the Ultra64 add-on card for the Silicon Graphics Indy. Note that it wasn't made by "Ultra", it was made by Silicon Graphics (as is clear if you look at a photo of one) and is the official kit. Then there was the Kyoto Micro Computer Partner-N ISA card / cart for PC. SN Systems never made official kits, they're cheaper alternatives.

The "Indy" Ultra board was the first one, but without 64DD support. Also no exp memory (i remember something about a Ultra board with exp ram exist...) So the best choice was the Partner setup with 64DD support. There was a ISA and PCI version, but pci is very rare.

Alright guys, between you and the countless Google searches, I think I know what I'm after now.

    SGI Indy Computer
    Ultra 64 Dev Board
    JoyBus adapter
    Partner-N Dev Cartridge

    Anything else I'm missing?

Partner N64 cart with ribbon cable
KMC N64 (can build by yourselve)
