What kind of plug is this? (japanese digital av?)

    Hi,

    i got today some consoles from japan. The PSX use some kind of digital out i never seen before:

    I think its a digital output or? Sorry if this is stupid questen but i never seen such plug before.
    What is the name of this connection? Is there any adapter like hdmi?
    Or is it only video? Better as s-video?

    D-Terminal. Common in Japan.

    Analog. Not digital.

    Can do SD up to HD. Depends on what the system is outputting.

    D-Sub is a VGA style. That's different.

    Yep, Japanese TVs don't have component ports on them, instead they use the D-Terminal that can handle up to 1080p depending on the TV. D-Terminal 5 is 240p to 1080p while D-Terminal is 720p and so on. The confusing part is that all D-Terminals look the same so you need to look at the back of the TV to see what No. it is. By the way, the D-Terminal only carries a video signal, no audio.
