Yeah, if you download the software for that programmer it supports pic12. (oh and I used to own one of them)

However, you can build your own simple programmer for much cheaper and those para ones arent very good.

    edit:
Link would be a good idea.

    http://www.ic-prog.com

click "supported programmers types" The top one (JDM) it probably the easiest.

    Thanks!

I already bought the programmer from eBay though. It will be handy for other stuff I want to do I guess also

You will need a XP machine and it will need a Parallel port. Which means you will probably end up with a "programming machine" - which is just a pain.

You should probably have bought the GQ-4X from mcumall - uses same adapters (if required) as the one you bought and is proper USB, faster and works with 7 fine.

    OK I received the chips.

In the device list for my programmer, the 12C508 PIC is not present. So I flashed it using the 12C612 instructions instead. Seemed to work fine, so I will test the chip on my console...

However, it is in the supported device list (with PIC embedded MCU adapter, whatever that is)...

Sounds like you are either using old software or are not looking in the software correctly.

Your chip is in the programming software for that programmer.

Just to be clear, it is this diagram correct? (as I have several different ones)

(this relates for the code 'jinn' uploaded on post #3)

The two red lines... Do I bridge these? (or is it for RGB PAL signal or something)...

Colour Mod not needed if using Scart RGB Cable
It doesn't hurt to do it on, only one cable

I'd advise you to contact Bad_Ad84 regarding that. He did a very good job with my SCPH-1000. I think it was a Stealth 2.8 hex that he programmed to the chip.

You can use the stealth 2.8a or the MultiMode 1.5, there is also one called Mayumi 2.1 but uses a 16F84 PIC. From what I have read, Mayumi 2.1 is better for the 1000 series

Can't find much info on Mayumi. Any help?

I just want something that boots everything, if possible.

Worst comes to worst I can just bust out my debug PS2.

The mayumi code is the hardest to find info on.
I am still trying to track down Mayumi 3.0/3.1/3.2 code
    I got mayumi 1.1, 2.1 and 4.0 code

Stealth 2.8, MM1.5 will boot every non anti-mod game and about 60-75% of anti-mod games.

Mayumi 2.1 and 3.X load about 90-99% of anti-mod games
Can be really picky when trying to get Stealth on the 1000 series.

Is 4.0 for later models then, or say, the SCPH-10X?

Mayumi 4.0 will work on later models 550X-900X and 10X
Does not support 100X in any way.

contact Bad_Ad84 and just get a stealth 2.8 or mm 1.5
