I have a question. I went to Best Buy today and their flyer mentioned something about the Blue DS system having a "Price Drop" of $20. Basically the thing costs only $129.99 now. Is this a permanent price drop or just a weekly sale item?

They had no DS systems in stock, so I couldn't tell if the silver colored version had the same price or not.

I spent like a year cashless because of many issues. I finally had the cash and my PS2 died, so I replaced it.

I was going to get a DS with that money.

Don't waste it on a PSP, it's really not worth it, until at least a couple price drops. I say keep the money. Or get games for consoles you already have.

If I had the cash I'd get Ace Combat 5 and Disgaea, for example. Or a Swap Magic thingie and Ace Combat 5.

Supergrafx: The price drop is permanant, Nintendo lowered the MSRP.

I would like to recommend the PSP because I love mine, but it really is too expensive right now. You'd be spending about $360 before tax to make it worth your while (PSP, a game, and a 512MB Memory stick), so it may be best to wait for a price drop. And of course, as most people say, the selection of games isn't that great either.

I'd say just hold on to the money for right now, you never know when that unbelievable deal is gonna come along.

yeah when i use to wrok i got a psp just due to the price, but i must say its not really worth it atm, even then all the current ones lock out homebrew and if you want to take advantage of all the features you need at leas a 512mb stick.

what annoys me with the psp right now is that it cost an arm and a leg, there's dead pixels everywhere, no games interest me at all, at the momment, its just ps2 games with more water added. i'd like one for media, homebrew and emus, but you need to do 245 things and not upgrade your machine and all, plus the battery life sucks and you need to convert videos... :(

  11. Me either. I preordered my copy yesterday, I'm so excited for it. September seems like the month of awesome DS releases - I'm looking forward to Trace Memory (wish they would have kept the 'Another Code' title, tho), Lost In Blue, and Lunar DS. I've been spending most of my time recently working my way (slowly) up the world ranking in Nanostray, another awesome title.

Get another so you have one for each hand. You can never have enough DS goodness.

Oh wow. Guess that's what I get for not following the gaming news as carefully as I used to!
Maybe now I'll spring for a DS...anyone know if it still comes with a free Mario 64 game?

Seems that you're right. EBGames has them both listed at $129.99
System has only been out what, 9-10 months and a price drop already? Eek.
No mention of the free game though.

No, it no longer comes with anything. Did come with metroid prime hunters for a while, but no longer..

Some stores like Wal-Mart actually had Mario64 bundled right in with the blue systems.

If you want to do more than just play games with it (music, school/papers, or even movies), I'd get a Pocket PC. PSPs are simply too expensive for my tastes.

Yep. There'd be a sticker on the box announcing the pack-in. :)
Other stores like Best Buy would simply give you the game free, right off the retail shelf.
