It's been 20 years since the NES was released stateside (I feel old) and I was wondering what Nintendo should do to celebrate. Personally I'd love for Nintendo to do a collector's re-release and sell a package with an NES Deluxe Set and every Nintendo (not every developer) game ever released in it's original packaging. I don't care if it had to be special ordered and cost $1000.00 dollars I'd buy it.

I have an idea, how about not releasing any more fucking NES games on the GBA?

They had an event in Japan to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Famicom, in the West it's just those classical NES re-releases on GBA.

A limited edition "Famicom" GameCube System would be great.

    give me a 24k gold nes. wadayathink?:smt045:smt045

nah, seriously. i know they won't do anything, but it would be damn cool if they could re-release the system in a collector deluxe ed. package with 4 or 5 classic games on it. it would be limited edition for sure (what did you thought?)and for a limited time, but it would certainly be apreciated by the real fans. i would buy two only to remember the feelling of opening my first video game console for the first time again. (and the other for collecting purposes)

    just dreaming.

oh, and stop those remakes of remakes that are already remakes and make good games.

ahh...i was dreaming on this too.

when is the nes' 20th birthday again?

Hmmm....launch some sort of online service for the DS and for the first month let you download NES games to your DS for free!

You know, like use a PC or wirelss hot spot for tunneling and let the DS connect to a master server and stream a small NES rom and emulator file to your DS and be able to play some of Nintendos' classic game portably for free (whilst the system is still turned on).

This way they will be celebrating the NES, boosting the DS AND advertising the GBA NES remakes.

It would be good if they let you get something decent with your 'Stars' on the nintendovip website (UK) instead of only wallpapers etc. I hear you can get good stuff in the US & Japan!

They have had some stuff on the UK one, like a VIP DS package, and the Zelda bonus disc that came with the SE of WW (the one without MM, I think). Still shit though.

You just have to wait untill the time is right to use your stars. Right now you can get a Baten Kaitos OST for 1800 stars.

But I agree it's very stupid of them to charge stars for a wallpaper...

There aint no Baten Kaitos OST in the UK catalogue. Thats the thing, each language version of the site has it's own catalogue.

I don't think they'll do anything significant, just like Sega did nothing when the Saturn turned 10 (or did they?) :-(
