I would not have a fluorescent lamp in my game collection room. There are many reasons for yellowing, but ultraviolet rays from sunlight and fluorescent lamps are one of them...

Yeah, UV rays are a no-no! I keep my goods hidden from light. Light is bad.

BTW, I know of this absolutely horrendous substance used to fix yellowing on boats. It'll turn your snes sparkling white, but it's horrid stuff, and if not handled properly will destroy your kidneys!

My other SNES is PAL/Secam, from France. Does the UK PAL have 2 round ends for its power output?

Mine has that plus a funky AV connector that looks like a DB-25 connector with flat connectors...

the stange thing is, that the lower part of the SFC housing never turned into yellow, just the upper part of it. when you compare those two parts on a new hardware, you will not see any differences in the color. it seems that they used two kind of different plastic types. don't ask me why!

My guess is costs. Recycled plastic is really cheap and really bad. It changes fast. Try sitting in the sun in a plastic chair made from cheap recycled plastic. I have seen some funny situations. Whooops... ;-)

Its either the cocaine or heroin that was put into the plastics for the shells that were manufactured in Mexico where it would be then smuggled across the border melted down and then reconstituted as the Heroin and cocaine. Hey Samsom can we get some of your heroin and cocaine and ge the hell out of here? AbraKadabra!

  12. Strangely, this issue happens with G.I. Joes. The 3 3/4 inch plastic figure. The faces all yellow with age.
