It all sounds lovely stuff with a lot of the ingredents phased out or banned in a lot of other countries. Lets have a look...

Carbonated Water - Gives you wind. :p So dangerous to people around you.

High Fructose Corn Syrup - Heavily processed sugar made as a by product of the corn industry. Has been linked to increased Triglyceride levels that can increase the risk of heart attack. Not used as much outside of America, where most soft drinks use cane sugar. Although there is about 6 teaspoons of sugar in a 8fl oz serving of the drink. So you would consume about 50 teaspoons of sugar drinking a 64fl oz bottle.

Citric Acid - Adds acidity but not bad for you.

Natural Flavour - Flavouring extracted from a natural source, and remember just because it is natural does not mean it is good for you.

Sodium Benzoate - Inhibits bacteria and fungal growth, but can form Benzene which is a carcinogen as well as research that links it to damaging the bodies DNA by attacking the mitochondria which could cause it to fail.

Gum Arabic - Used in the syrup to bind it. The body doesn't digest it and it passes through you.

Caffeine - Stimulant, MDGF contains 48mg per 8 fl oz (approx 248ml) if you drank a 64 fl oz bottle in a day then you would consume more then 380mg of caffiene which is more then the 250mg maximum recommended per day. More then 250mg may result in restlessness, insomnia, headaches, etc. Drinking more then 250mg a day can also lead to a dependancy for caffiene so when you do not have it you get withdrawl symptoms which include restlessness, headaches, short temper, etc.

Trisodium Citrate (Listed as Sodium Citrate)- Used to give a tart flavouring as well as used as a antioxidant.

Yellow 5 (aka known as Tartrazine or E102) - Artificial colouring, banned in Norway and has been phased out in foods and drink for children in the UK and most of the EU. With Sodium Benzoate is known to increase hyperactivity in children and can cause restlessness and insomnia in adults. Is also linked to stomach ulcers and is likely a carcinogen.

Glycerol ester of wood rosin - Used to bind oils in water so they do not seperate.

Ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (aka Calcium Disodium EDTA) - Used to inhibit the Sodium Benzoate from forming Benzene as well as being an antioxidant, it still does but in much smaller doses. However it is a organic pillutant and is cytotoxic, although in small doses it is fairly harmless. The bottle states it is used to protect flavour...

Yellow 6 (aka as Sunset yellow or E110) - Artificial colouring, banned in Norway and Sweden and like Tartrazine has been phased out of food and drinks in the UK and most of the EU. Can cause reactions for people with Asparin intolerance and has been linked to hyperactivity in children. Can cause stomach aches, headaches and nausea in people too.

Red 40 (aka Allura Red or E129) - Artifical colouring, banned in Denmark, Belgium, France and phased out in the UK and most of the EU. Linked to hyperactivity in children.

Brominated Vegetable Oil - Used to suspend the citrus oils in the water. It is basically vegetable oil (probably Soybean) with Bromide forced into it. Can cause bromism in high enough doses. Fatigue, headaches, memory loss are linked to BVO. Banned in the EU and several other countries in the world. Bromide can also lower sexual drive.

Damn, I remember back in the day where Redbull was illegal in Denmark (it is legal now), but back then I drank some serious weird energy drinks, such as battery (I remember it had alcohol in it), and other trippy energy drinks. So no, I have never drunk Mountain Dew Game Fuel. And the ingredients makes it clear, that it is illegal in Denmark.

It has stupid amounts of caffeine, and Taurine, probably. And obscene amounts of sugar.

I survived one part of the semester thanks to energy drinks and cigarettes, but yeah, your first few energy drinks will give you the effects you describe.

Seriously, what is it that makes it so compatible with each other (energy drinks and smokes) ? Other they are both bad for you, and you are having an awesome times getting high and burping and farting at the same time ?
But oh yeah, the shakes really messes you up every now and then.

High ammounts of caffeine, yes. high amounts of high fructose corn syrup? Yes. Taurine? No. I did write the entire ingredents list and Taurine is not a flavouring so has to be listed. Although Taurine has negliable effects on humans anyway, with reducing blood pressure being the major one, but any benefits it gives is probably removed by the high amounts of caffeine and sugar. Although the artifical colours and Sodium Benzoate probably help with the hypertension.

Strong coffee with several spoons of sugar will give you the same benefits of most energy drinks anyway. Most of the stuff they stick in Red Bull is in too small amounts to really give any benefits and some things like Glucuronolactone have had nothing useful published on it for over 40 years, with most recent reports saying that it has no known benefits and is harmless in high doses. Niacin, is Vitamin B3 and there are higher doses in most Vitamin tablets.

That is not correct - I've been buying HFCS-less food and drink for a few years now, and you'd be surprised how often HFCS is used in all sorts of products in the EU. It's in a lot of sodas, but also in breakfast cereal and cookies, for instance. Man, I hope they ban it - it would be a rare instance of the EP/EU/EC actually doing something that directly benefits the people

While we're on the subject of Mountain Dew, wouldn't some Mousetain Dew sound refreshing right about now?

Real energy comes from within. Not from some manufactured drink.

I can not believe people drink all these energy drinks. Why not just drink poison and get it over with I reckon.
I just drink water, water and more water everyday.

Yeah, that was so messed up. How the fuck, does a mouse get into a mountain dew can anyway?

Most of them are just sugary drinks, with caffeine. Might as well have Pepsi or something.

Try those NRG tablets you can get from Holland and Barrett, never used them (don't want to try drugs (which is what they are basically) but I hear those can give you 5+ hours of energy out of one tablet.

The only energy drink I even bother with is Rockstar. Only thing thats ever actually kept me awake.
