I disagree. It's true that you can see dithering more easily with RGB, but the overall picture quality is much better. The argument that when a game uses dithering you shouldn't use RGB is ridiculous. Many arcade games use dithering and output RGB. Let's not forget that there were PS1-based arcade systems too. Older PC games also use dithering and typically use RGBHV. Disliking dithering is just a matter of taste. Personally it doesn't bother me, and the picture is so much better that the dithering seems trivial. @GoH: About switches, you could just get a SCART switch and buy or build a SCART to JP21 adapter. It would be easy to build.
If only there was another way to blend that dithering with a higher quality signal at the same time. You miss out on some cool blends because of that. But overall RGB looks so much better.
The DVDO 20 and 30 have an upgrade card to get better de-interlacing. They take 240 out of the box from my research. There are DUO's up on ebay for 150 a piece. They are listed at 175 but I just did a best offer for 150 and it was accepted instantly. The DUO is just like the edge, but with color management. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=162586557740
I may just grab that thanks for the heads up. Saves me about $200. Just asked the seller if it has the remote if he says yes, I'm grabbing this tonight. ALthough when it comes to DVDO converters the master himself says that's one of the worst ones for 240p Found this in my e-mail archive. Not sure what the means, since the VP50 doesn't handle 240p. I think he is saying the DUO is the best. The DUO is identical to the EDGE but has color management. Fudoh said this about the processors:
That's the order of how good they are Edge/Duo at the lower end. Iscan HD being the best. Anyways the Duos on Ebay no don't have the remotes, making them useless for my purposes.
