If you're talking about clarity. Edge definement and precise color, tube is still the only solution, anything else is just big to be big. You can quote all kinds of resolutions for lcd and dlp, plasma, but response time, contrast ratios, color accuracy, consistant brightness and precision cannot be matched by anything but tube right now. The new flat panels in the future use tiny phosphors like a tube, but they are some 4-6 years from now. If I had to get a big screen, DLP is the only way to go. Plasma burns in and loses 50% of it's brightness in 3-4 years. LCD has poor response time and resolution.
For Gaming, I've got: 24" I think Acquos LCD (the smaller one I forgot how the measure it) mounted on my wall for Progressive Scan and VGA games. PVM-2530 25" RGB Monitor for old school games and the super gun. 32" Sony Plasma = $0. Not used (much) for gaming.
we are using PDP as our main TV since late 2002... let's see how long it will last as it's being used around 10+ hours a day almost non-stop... I'm going to pick up another PDP sometime next year and retire this one as for gaming and DVD playing only - or maybe just hang on my kid's room for her to use...
I play all my stuff through a Divers Dreamcast at the mo... have to sit pretty close... but it's just too damn cool to not use... plus... fav console built-in, cant get better than that! )
Yep, your TV does kick arse Importaku. I was amazed at how big it was when I saw it. @TheVGM - you should clean your TVs mate. How can you play on them with all that brown shite inthe corners? That would annoy me till no end. Yakumo
Those pictures are older than my grandma (she's 54 I think). Notice how there are no games on top of the tv's....
