During the NES days there was some tv show where it featured nothing but video games. And if I can remember correctly, they would have competitions on beating levels or something. I remember one time it was showing like kids playing super mario 2. Can anyone remember this show? I hope I find out....
I found it ! "Video & Arcade Top 10" (1991) [TV-Series 1991-????] http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0380153/
i have amazing news, as of last year, the show was still on, only they were using current gen systems, its on a canadian station called YTV...havent watched it in ages...
The only thing I can remember about Nick Arcade was this kid who couldn't pass the first board on Bonk's Revenge. On Beginner.
I remember that show Video Power. I couldn't remember the name of it but it stuck with me because they gave away Neo Geo's as prizes. I'd have liked to see the parents reaction when they went to buy a Neo game for the first time. I also remember the Acclaim cartoons. It makes Captain N: The Gamemaster must see TV by comparison. I wonder if ASSEMbler snagged any of the cartoon stuff from Acclaim? As for Nick Arcade, They still show reruns of it on the Nickelodeon GAS (Game and Sports) channel which is carried by most satellite and digital cable providers. It's still as bad as ever. There was also a Gamepro TV show as well.
That video or one taken from the Sonic 2 beta was given away free in the UK on the front of Mean Machines magazine. Yakumo
