I think by "toon", coal stepping means "character". "Name your favorite playable character in a game series." But some on the list are single games, not series. So I guess it's still confusing.
Toons. I found it easier than cartoon that is a spaceship, or cartoon that's a character. Spaceship isn't a character its a toon.
I see. I still don't understand why you'd use the term "toon" though. I've only heard it used in reference to cartoons, as in animated films and TV shows - not in reference to videogames. Anyway, now that I know what you're talking about, here are some of my favorites: Dead or Alive series: Tina Virtua Fighter series: Sarah/Kage (tie) Scud Race: Dodge Viper Crazy Taxi: Axel - partly because he's the default option, and partly because I find it amusing when the announcer guy says "Go ahead and pick Axel!" Soul Caliber: Nightmare/Sophitia (tie) Resident Evil: Jill Super Smash Bros. series: Samus That's about all I can think of for now.
