Here’s what Nintendo’s DS Lite looks like from the inside out. Note the ruler next to the handheld? That should give you a better idea of what you’ll get your hands on.

Also here take a look DS Lite Instruction Manual

That picture would have worked out better if they had used the first few inches of the ruler instead of just picking a spot in the middle...

I don't know if it's just my monitor, but the case already looks a bit "scruffy". I wonder how well they'll hold up to dirt.

That pic isnt doing the DS Lite any favors. It looks ugly and cheap to me.

I might try it out at the stores first. Im sure it will look better in person.

The thing looks more like a "toy" compared to the original DS.

Yeah, that looks like it'll shatter if you drop it even a short distance. But the top pic helps a bit to scale it.

Dont know if the plastic is used up, but without the photoshop from the nintendo press photos, it looks kinda cheap, not classy at all:fresh:

BTW, theres a new cover in the GBA slot. The manual says it should be used to avoid the entrance of dirt.

I think they find out most people didnt use the GBA slot, at least most of the time...

Looks like a dedicated power socket as well, no more buying cheap 3rd party GBA chargers...

    From the PDF:
Power Button (POWER) – Turns system on or off. To prevent turning
the system off accidentally during game play, you must hold the
Power Button in the UP position for a moment before it will turn off.

I'd be interested to see how the lower screen operates and if it still has that slightly mottled sheen effect thats due to the resistant surface.

Be nice if they have found a method to make both screens equal in terms of display and function.

What were you expecting? stainless steel?

This is very much a nintendo looking design. Once they get some decent pictures of it you'll change your mind.

The old ds is a real big brick , I welcome the smaller one. At least now I won't feel like a twelve year old when I use it in public. The old DS screams "TOY"

"Not planning on announcing a new design anytime soon" my ass. Sometimes nintendo really pisses me off... but i'll be buying a DS Lite anyway...
