I have a supergun with a jrok encoder. It works great but I would like to get a better picture out of my pcbs playing on my HDTV. I do not have the room for a monitor and I have also tried to get my hands on a xrgb 2 (non plus) but have not been able to find one and the one I did see went for over $400 on ebay for a used one. I wanted to know if there was any other upscan/upscalers I could get that would be a better picture then the jrok? I also play alot of midway pcbs nba jam, mortal kombat, ect and I know they have a crazy refresh rate. So it would have to be able to work with them. Any help would be great. Thanks Scott
Basically if you want quality you will need to spend money. XRGB2Plus or the XRGB3 are the best value for money so far. There are much more expensive bits of kit running in to the thousands of dollars but I personally don't think the extra cost reflexes in terms of quality. On average the XRGB3 in on Yahoo Auctions will cost about 25'000 yen which is about 300 USD. But then you have to think about seller commissions, shipping and so on so yeah, 400 to 450 USD is a realistic amount. Yakumo
Since I'm not using it any more I could be convinced to sell my XRGB2+ if you want to make me an offer. I've rewired the 21-pin connector on the front to SCART. Stone
Of course I honor the right of the OP of first refusal, so consider me 2nd in line. Also: would you be interested in a partial trade for my Neo CP + money? Cheers, alpha.
I'm waiting for the new XRGB-mini G2 "Frame Meister". The development is complete and the PCBs are being manufactured, Micomsoft are just debugging the firmware now apparently. Not too long until release now, maybe a month or two. Hopefully this will be the ultimate answer to upscaling, and I'll finally be able to get a Neo Geo on the go again.
