for what they were supposed to use? distributers? game mags? internal use only? and are they anything worth? the cart case is a japanese, as well the game itself runs on the jap. SFC w/o problems.
They are likely copies for magazines/editors to review. If you open them up you will most likely find an eprom board. In house carts usually have no case since it would take too long to screw it back together each time a new build is ready. These carts were used in Japan and also Europe. I had a few European games which used the same generic SFC sticker with Japanese writing, later they seemed to have changed it to their own sticker design. I believe "The Firemen" never had an NTSC release, I might be wrong though.
The Firemen did indeed have a Japanese release since I own it. It also had a PAL release but as for US I couldn't say. Yakumo
It very much depends what's on it, most likely they were sent back and forth to be reflashed with the latest version of the software on it. So there's a high chance you won't find beta code on it. They are nice to have as I like the way they look, if it's review code only no beta then I would say £20-25 each. That's about what I paid for one of these a while ago. If you are selling them let me know. Sabre
