This I just dont understand. Weird channels (there are A LOT of them) that just upload slideshows, usually game screenshots, with music and lots of tags. They dont link any spam and neither have suscribers. It blows my mind, looks like some kind of amusement to bother people while searching videos but it take time and need a little effort. Are people that stupid?
One of those videos takes what, half an hour to make? That's not much, especially if your time is cheap (i.e. you're uneducated, out of a job or just have nothing better to do at that moment). Every view of that video then nets you a (small) profit. I assume you mean the viewers? Yeah, I don't know who ends up watching those videos either. People not paying attention? Maybe some browsing YT on a smart TVs where you can't imediately recognize slideshows as what they are? Either way, apparently there's enough of them out there for this "genre" to stay alive.
I'm not really sure if anyone can get money with so few visits, the most popular video have like 2000 views and most of them are around 100 views.
Because it's the internet. There's no real rules what can be made and cannot be made. Videos like this are a waste of time, and shouldn't be made after the age of 5.
I make videos for fun. But if you have fun making ultra-low-quality random slideshows you have a problem. This doesnt get even the Microsoft Movie Maker seal of shitty quality. Well, at least they are easily recognizable.
Usually you get paid by 1000's of views. It's something like between $1-5 per 1000 views, but you have to have an advertisement contract with YouTube for which you need many 1000's of subscribers in the first place. Also, I don't know why this shit exists either. What garbage... and it's mindboggling that someone would seriously spend time to create a low-res slideshow of Dreamcast Sports Jam.
People make videos for fun. I've been making game videos since I was 14 (1990 on VHS) Who's to say these videos aren't made by kids. Shit, I even made a Phantasy Star Online slide show video back in 2000 (I think) because I loved the game so much.
The videos could be for something, IE embedded on a website. Youtube can be a very cost effective solution for dumping stuff like this... free hosting!
