So I was just over on Sega16 forum and decided to post a reply. Now I've been a member there for a few months now but had never posted anything. So I post only to get a message saying my reply won't be visible until a moderator approves it. The hell is up with that??? Does this place have something like that for the newer members now or something? I don't know since I've been a member long before the most recent updates. Kind of a newer "veteran" member so I don't need moderating on what I say most of the time. Any ideas?
Haha, there is some strong anti-bot measures on sega-16. I guess this is simply because its your first time posting. When I joined it did not happen however there used to be a 50 minimum post count to start new topic. I do now know if this is still there.
I remember reading on GajinPunches forum, that for every real member he got, he got 50 spammers. So I think 1st posts on most forums are pending mod approval. (Even with the months delay) I believe my first 3 posts on this forum weren't posted till after mod approval.
Its not just new members. Sometimes the anti-spam will block regular members as well. Take a look here: http://www.sega-16.com/forum/showthread.php?24757-Moderated-Posts
I have about 850 posts on Sega-16 and never got auto-moderated so its obviously not common occurence. This is something to do with the amount/provenance of external links you post I think.
So the post I made didn't make it through the mods. I had no links in it whatsoever. Perhaps due to me using "ass" in it?
Indeed, so registration is admin only. I've never had a high volume forum, so I don't mind registering 1-2 people a month.
I dont think so. I think the mods are a bit lazy about this though, one admitted to only checking auto-moderated messages once in several days. Maybe send a PM to mod to let them know you exist. Im sure once this is done you wont get any more issues.
