    Poll time again!!

Let me define platformer as a (probably 2-D) sideways scrolling game, of the Mario and Sonic ilk. I'm not counting 3-D variations like Sonic 3D or Mario 64 because they can come under something else - this could be a chance for the 8 bit consoles!!

As you can only have 10 options, I decided on the "classic" era. As great as they were, I excluded the early Ataris, Colecovision etc. and there are some others missing too. Sorry for that! I thought this was probably the best way to balance them, though.

Please vote for the console you think had the most decent platformers, not just because of one game! If you genuinely feel another console deserves to be voted for, feel free to say. And in the case of multiple systems listed, feel free to state which you're voting for!

SNES because it has one of the weirder platformers "Umihare Kiwase".

    1. SFC/SNES (Super Mario World, Umihara Kawase, Skyblazer/Karuraou and MANY more).

    2. MD because of games like Ristar, Sonic series, Pulseman, Dynamite Headdy etc.

Well, old consoles like NES and Master System had some great games (LOVED some of the Alex Kidd games, and of course the Mario games), but I have to say SNES had one HELL of a lot of good platformer moments for me. Comfy pad, too!!

I voted Megadrive, for all the Sonic games. Though for a moment I was tempted to vote Saturn because it has 'em all on Sonic Jam, AND it has Rayman :)

Megadrive actually got my vote, but SNES was pretty much equal.

I voted MD too, probably mainly because I owned one. Gunstar Heroes is probably the best 2 player platformer EVER, though. Not forgetting all the great 1 player ones too, like pretty much everything else Tresure mde on the MD, the Sonic series, and the MD itertion of kumajou Dracula was pretty damn cool.

The a's busted on this keybord, so I'm going now...
