what's your FPGA?

Well for the SNES the weapon of my choice is an SD2SNES, manufactured by krikzz and designed by ikari it truly is a remarkable piece of hardware. It's powered by a Xilinx Spartan FPGA.
The cartridge emulator supplying my N64 needs is the 64Drive by marshallh. At the time I bought it, it seemed to be the best choice. Nowadays I probably would buy an Everdrive 64, just because it's cheaper and there is a vibrant community surrounding it. The 64Drive sports an Altera Cyclone II FPGA.

When it comes to Xbox 360 I prefer the Jtag hack because it turns the console into something more resembling a development machine compared to a simple hardware based drive emulator. Homebrew is very important to me.

The only other console I have is a 3DS XL and I hope that someday there will be a real cartridge emulator and not just that crap that is available now which relies on firmware hacks. But there isn't really much space inside an 3DS cart, so the question is how small will they be able to make those FPGA's in a few years? Small enough to fit inside a 3DS cartridge?

a friend has a 'gateway' spoof for his n3d, if i recall, it was a cfw flasher for one cartridge (used one-time) and the eeprom cartridge, ONLY one game at a time (1/1 rom overlay copy afaik?) but agreed, better to wait for a 'practical' version.
wanted to get a 'cycloDSi' but i kinda gave up on it, lost interest altogether in handhelds, (unless they can be big-screened and controlled via intermediary hid)
looking for a krikzz mega-everdrive v3 when $$$ is better, and i CERTAINLY would KILL for the snes one.
the RGH i have is a joke, won't load rom images, just expanded directory content, like a softmodded original xbox or cfw'd ps3.
i'm not a homebrew fan (apart from console cracks themselves, the bios shit, but i'm not a coder so please don't ask) but a hardcore gamer...
and for the purposes of these devices, they meet my requirements.
if i had the skills, i'd TEAR this goddamn RGH-PCB-shredder right out and swap it for x3key optical drive intercept ANY DAY of the week, but not compus-mentus enough for the job!
a new 360 for x3key and an s3key for my spare ps3 (ofw 3.61) as it can't be flashed other than with the spaghetti-junction PCB-WASTER known as 'progskeet/E3flasher'...
    each to their own!
    ...
    appreciate you partaking, thanks! :friendly_wink:
