Im looking for video game music from any Era 8bit 16bit its all music to my ears. So wheres the best place? I knew one place but you had to pay (for music they don't even own) to download it all in one big go or it was one place. So where to go? Torrents?
While I don't think you'll find any untouched music there, http://ocremix.org/ has some really talented artists, so much so that Capcom had them do the music for SSF2T:HDRemix.
Try http://www.vgmusic.com/ for midi files and http://www.hvsc.de/ for C64 music, http://www.exotica.org.uk/wiki/Main_Page and http://amigamusic.com/ for amiga music...
Downloading music is piracy!! You have to rip/dump your own copies of the game, extract the music from them, and then convert them to MP3 format. In all seriousness, though, I just use Youtube. It saves download times and hard drive space.
This is a dubious thread as you're basically asking people where they choose to steal content from....
If you're threatened by the size of ripped vgm files (no sense having MP3s, really) then it might be time to upgrade
Quite. Although I will say that paying much over the original cost for long out-of-print soundtracks is a justifiable excuse to download. Donkey Kong Country OST series is really unavailable anywhere and I'm not paying some hiked up second-hand price for it, pirate-label be damned.
You should check this youtube page: http://www.youtube.com/user/Renegade466isback The dude uploaded complete soundtracks for, like, one zillion games
Best way to listen to your music from a game you love is usually YouTube it. Or stream it yourself. Although some games are impossible to get music off. Most have music test options can record it from there
