I just check Zergnet from time to time as it collects articles from various sites and is usually up to speed with interesting developments.
I liked this site wordpress theme and it has some good material. I'll add to my daily check list. EDIT: forgot to say: thank you
You'll hate me but I pretty much just get around to reading Kotaku. I'm on enough game forums that if there is anything interesting, someone is going to create a topic about it and I can read about it that way. Additionally, if you stick to forums, you get reactions from people who know what they are doing, rather than just that of the news site's author.
I tend to check out http://the-magicbox.com/ for news. I miss the days when mmcafe.com was regularly active with news.
I use Destrouctoid. Check it once a day and get important news from them on facebook. Once in a while I check Joystiq too. Equally good site. Sundays I check Playstation Blog for PSN updates.
I don't really keep up to date with gaming news. People occasionally post stuff here, and sometimes Gizmodo reposts stuff from Kotaku and other gaming sites. If there's a new game I'm interested in, very often I'll watch a video review of it on IGN. Other than that, I don't really go actively looking for gaming news. Most new games don't really interest me much, but there are some exceptions.
I used to actually post on GameFAQs, until I realized that the majority of people on most general gaming forums are inexcusably immature. Now, I still browse the website, but basically just to check and see if any upcoming releases seem interesting... or read up about older games. If I'm looking for news on a particular company, though, I just do a google search.
I start with Kotaku for the major big news of the day, skipping past all the non gaming "culture" articles that are getting more and more prevalent there. Then I go to Joystiq to get my actual gaming news. Then onto forums. Magic Box I check every few days as they don't update daily. If you like Japan games just scrolling through Play Asia will come up with some games you will never see on alot of sites. They have great banner ads for games months in advance. You almost can't call Kotaku a news site anymore. It is easy to read and scroll through and click on important videos that just came out.
My twitter feed, for the most part. Follow the right accounts and you pretty much get everything. Other than that, Destructoid and Rock Paper Shotgun.
